20/04/11 What is going to happen to the economy of our countries when we can no longer work?

It has only been about a week and half since I did my last shopping for groceries and I must say, " What the H... is going on". What is going to happen to our economy when we can no longer work because we can not afford to put insurance on our vehicles, pay for repairs of the vehicles because of the conditions of our roads or the fact that we can not afford the stupid gas to get to work and back home and if we can not make the wages we need we can not eat? If there were less spending by our governments maybe we would not be in this situation. We in Canada are winding down to our 4 or 5 election in 7 years and at a pop of 300 million to 400 million dollars per elelction, I say what for. No matter who gets in, what they try to do it all amounts to the same thing. The rich get richer and the working poor are going to soon have to stop work and go on welfare. That is just my opinion. Sorry for ranting. What is your opinion? Am I nuts?

Like you say The Rich get richer and the Poor get poorer. I know we are having a lot of people without jobs, etc. here in the USA, too. I hope it will turn around soon.

After a trip through Africa someone said, “If you can eat what and when you want each day, you are wealthy.” Being rich is comparative. That being said, I agree that for most North Americans, changes in the economy cause hardships. I see prices going up and services going down. I see the infrastructure that keeps everything functioning getting worn out and starting to fail. There was such a level of enthusiasm about the future of the country that we thought it would only keep getting better. Who paid attention to inflation, corruption, corporate and government greed, and the demand for more money and less taxes. Well, here we are and fixing the mess is going to be painful and expensive. Good luck to the working poor because they will get hurt the most.

It is getting to be pretty bad everywhere now. People who were fine just a year or so ago, are feeling the pinch now, and some of us have been going through a tough time for a lot longer. I wish I knew the answer to all of this mess......

I wouldn't say nuts exactly, but perhaps you are over-reacting a bit. One of the things we can do is move out of the cities because I do believe when violence comes, and it will when people are hungry and cannot work, being in the country is a safer place to be. Also, out here we CAN grow out own food if need be. I'm in the USA and I agree that government are not the answer. We need to rely on ourselves and we will be OK.

I have to say this, until you said you were from Canada I thought you were talking about the United States. But I guess it makes me have a little comfort in knowing other countries are having the same problem as us. Now that I said that lets get back to the topic in hand. I really feel that the progressive movement is trying to set up an one world government. The only way to accomplish this is to ruin the economy in the wealthy countries while raising the economy in the poorer countries. From what I see on the news, thats what is happening now. I think it will take them decades to doe this, but the signs a there. So there is my opinion, and I don't think your nuts. But you might think I'm nuts.

I don't know how a lot of us are going to be able to buy groceries like we have in the past. I really feel for the families with children.

There's been a national increase in robberies already and I suppose they will continue to rise. People will be living (and dying) in the streets. It's disheartening.
