*Surprise Contest* Celebrate National Pink Day
Closed

Pink Day was established in 2007 after a pair of students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, saw one of their fellow students at Central Kings Rural High School being bullied for no other reason than that they were wearing a pink shirt.

They started Pink Day - to get everyone to take a stand against bullying and have everyone at their school wear pink the next day.

Since then, every February 27th has officially been pink day, to spread understanding and fight to end bullying.

In honor of this holiday, we are having a surprise content contest!

*****************************************

1. Create a Topic between February 26 - February 28
2. Topic must be about Bullying
3. Topic title must include the word "bullying"

Everyone who participates will earn 500 points.

**Only one topic will be awarded per person, but if you would like to enter more than one that is your decision. We want to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions on bullying! Points will be rewarded by March 10, 2019 - US and CA only.

Bullying is the worst. More love. Birth peace. Bring forth change. We need to change the world. Too many people dying and killing themselves. Stop the madness. Let's all get along. We need to love. Bullying needs to be eliminated. Stop the bully's. Wipe them out. Talk and share. Hugs for all. Love for all. Everyone needs love. More love and no more pain. Scream to the heavens. A war on bullying.

Bullying may be scary to stop but it should always be stopped if noticed...even amongst adults!

I never had issues growing up about bullying. My son is autistic, he was diagnosis at 22 months. I worried so much about how kids were going to treat him. I had a talk with him before he started school. How should you deal with bullies in the real world? Should you walk away or fight back? If you try to be a good person in a world full of bullies, are you rewarded? You can ask your kids why they want to play a game that simulates rough behavior when bullying is a real part of daily life. Does it help them cope or give vicarious pleasure?

My schools had no bullies. The few possibilities of bullies were eliminated by lack of participation. Nobody wanted to be identified as playing the role of bully in my schools. Another interesting quirk was that there was no dating in my high school. The female students wanted good grades and to work outside the home after graduation. The male students respected the modern wishes of the female students. Pretty quirky stuff.

This topic is something i know something about. When I grew was up, bullies and bullying was very prevalent, did not matter what coloured shirt you wore.
Usually it was always a group of 3 or more, followers and a leader.. more often than not the biggest fool with the lodest voice ... you know the type. For years these bullies were succesful in their intimidation and i grew sick of the homophobic, demeaning garbage they spewed out until one day, i was skateboarding at a school ( no skate parks then) and after skating down to the bottom of the hill,as i was walking back up 4 guys started following me only it was different... I decided to face my fear. and as the threats and remarks sloounded out, instead of giving inbto the fear and confusion i kept walking..as they got closer,! Turned quickly and delivered a sound punch to the leaders head...he managed to utter “good hit”... then started crying and his buddies looked on in disbelief! I looked hard at the next guy,! fully expected be jumped,, instead, they all ran..My point is bullying is horrible and its effects last for years often leading to thoughts of suicide. Yet, it is a right of passage in life that assures the young mans place in the world. All of the support through the pink shirt movement is great, however situations as they were where things were much different ... big boys dont cry attitude from parents was there..
i believe if we as the human race do not follow “ jungle law” on the occasion we are taking one more step towards emasculation and become unable to procreate, where do we wind up?...natural selection will be threatened, therefore our race will weaken generationally untill we go the way of species that are unwilling or unable to adapt. Sorry for the long winded personal experience.
