Good Friends are forever & are there for you always. Like these 2 lady's had. Shows how to not put up with any type of abuse from your partner & take action to address the issues before it's to late. Abuse, loneliness, selfless & self centered in a relation leads to depression, PTSD & more incl suicides.
Loved this movie.

Thelma and Louise is a good movie. Two working class friends have planned a weekend getaway from the men in their lives. The road trip starts out as a good time, the pair eventually wind up at a bar. The lead character's role is motivated by a female urge to escape abuse and then plummet herself into the arms of a destructive oblivion.
They meet up with another young criminal. The pair is pursued by a police officer who is sympathetic toward their plight.
Wonderfully well acted and with a stunning cinematography for this delicious road movie.

Thelma and Louise is a complicated movie if you are looking at it as a psychological thriller to a certain degree. The lead character's role is motivated by a female urge to escape abuse and then plummet herself into the arms of a destructive oblivion is not without merit. This is a trope seen in many films but not necessarily explored from the point of view of the leading lady (ies).
I give it two thumbs way up for being provocative, substantial, and trail blazing in it's own right.

Two working class friends have planned a weekend getaway from the men in their lives. The road trip starts out as a good time, the pair eventually wind up at a bar. Thelma ends up in the parking lot of the bar with a would-be rapist. Louise shoots the man dead. The two decide that they have no choice but to go on the run. They meet up with another young criminal. The pair is pursued by a police officer who is sympathetic toward their plight. This unexpected delight, which travels at top speed from the doldrums to the Grand Canyon, is moreover blessed with two high-octane performances. Thelma & Louise isn't only a movie, it's also a journey. In some dark night of your distant past, you might once have dreamed about taking it. The classic female buddy movie. Wonderfully well acted and with a stunning cinematography for this delicious road movie.

Thelma and Louise is a classic Movie and one of my all time favourites. Even in todays age it is still a relevant film. It is a movie about two women's friendship and how far they will ultimately go for that friendship. It is a tale of a lonely/meek housewife (Geena Davis) and a strong willed/independent waitress (Susan Sarandon). The two women decide to take a break from everyday life with a fishing trip. However, their innocent trip of Fishing becomes a bit flawed and the ladies end of fleeing from the law because at a pit stop at a bar turns a rye when Louise shoots and kills a man at the bar that tries to rape Thelma. Louise decides to flee to Mexico and Thelma decides to join with her. On their way to Mexico they get into some other trouble! They are low on funds and need to borrow money from Jimmy (Louise's boyfriend) As well as rob a few places. On the way, Thelma falls for sexy young thief J.D. (Brad Pitt) who in reality is a con artist and rips the ladies off with the little money they had to get to their Mexico destination. They evade capture for sometime and almost reach their destination until they get noticed and then the chase begins. They ultimately get caught with no where to go (other than surrender or go over the cliff) The sympathetic Detective Slocumb (Harvey Keitel) who is assigned to the ladies cases ultimately tries to convince the two women to surrender before their fates are sealed. But in the end the ladies decide what fate they wanted to have in the end. The held strong and united till the very end, and end up choosing to go down together and taking that last ride over the cliff.

It's a great movie about friendship. Thelma joins her friend Louise, an independent waitress on a short fishing trip. However, their trip becomes a flight from the law when Louise shoots and kills a man who tries to rape Thelma at a bar. Louise decides to flee to Mexico, and Thelma joins her.

I watched it with my mom and I now understand why she and her bestie do not stop raving about it. What I enjoyed most is the slap-stick humor, something that is lacking in today's day-in-age, as most seem to be consumed with social media and keeping up with the Jone's (or Kardashian's... which ever you fancy!)
