Was It Emotional For You When Your Child Left For University or Moved Out On Their Own?

I think almost every parent feels the tug and the ache in their heart when their child leaves home whether for college or out on their own for the first time.

Angelina Jolie was no different as she was dropping off her oldest son Maddox in South Korea for his first year of University. “I’m trying not to cry,” she added while holding her hand to her chest and looking at her oldest son.

It's a huge milestone for the child and for the parents and it can be a whole jumble of emotions. For some, it can be a sense of loss that may not even hit you right away until the daily living with your child no longer at home becomes reality.
All of a sudden, you know less about their life, where they are, what they're doing and generally worrying about them, are they eating right and sleeping enough. It's almost like a grieving period but also a sense of accomplishment that you have raised and nurtured your child and prepared them to be on their own. Nevertheless, it's still emotional. You can't help but smile though when you walk past their bedroom where they have always slept and the room is clean!

I couldn't imagine my child going out to South Korea. Such a dangerous Zone to being too close to Kim jong-in in North Korea.

No children, but I had a hard time leaving home for college when I was young.
