A barista at my regular café, told me they have a customer who orders a takeaway large coffee only, via Uber, every morning. Would you ever order home delivery for a take away beverage only?

This morning I saw an Uber driver pick up just one large coffee in a takeaway cup, covered in cling wrap, for delivery. That's when the barista told me of a customer's daily order. Seems like an expensive way to get your hot beverage, considering this daily delivered beverage costs the customer approx $9 at time.

Even if I was crook, I wouldn't just order a beverage for home delivery, I'd just make my own at home. Would you ever have a beverage only, home delivered, which would includ a home delivery cost?

Obviously this person is quite happy to part with nine dollars. I certainly wouldn't do it but then it's his money and he is entitled to spend it anyway he likes. Perhaps he has a way of writing off the cost as a taxpayer funded business entertainment expense. Reply

Hi Everyone, Please don't judge this person because they get a takeaway coffee delivered to them through Uber. It could be for any number of reasons. Everyone in this world is way too judgemental these days for many different reasons. Try not to judge someone for simply doing this. Also think everytime you do something out in public people are probably judging you without you knowing it. I know i get judged on things everyday and I don't give a crap anymore. Reply

No I wouldnt order a Coffee or Food through Uber or any of those type places. I would physically go to the cafe or restaurant and get what i wanted. I am not judging anyone but there could be a number of reasons why that person gets a takeaway coffee through Uber as often as they do. They could also be a recluse who doesn't leave the house for whatever reason. I know a couple of people who are recluses one who lives near me. I check on them often and also leave food and treats and occasional things like books or colouring books on their front door step and then a week later go back and collect the novel/s i have left for them and leave them with something else to keep them occupied. They will also occasionally leave me notes of things they would like me to do for them such as get things from the supermarket on my way home and i just leave them on the front step knock on the door yell out and say its me (my name) and walk back home. I have been in their house a couple of times but not for a very long time. They know where i am if they need me for whatever reason. Reply
