Taps in public toilets or restaurants.

I find using taps at wash basins in public places these days can be challenging. It's not always the old turn on the tap, The other day when i went to wash hands in a cafe toilet i put my hands under the tap and no water was coming out, i'm thinking how do i get water, i then realised I had to push the end of the tap. Hey presto water. I was so glad noone else was in there. But I have been to places where you just put your hands under and water comes out instantly. Do others find it intriguing?

lol I can relate to this! I remember the first time this happened. I had to wait for someone else to use the basin next to me to watch what they did then copy! Reply

Its actually law in every state under food safety regulations, they must install taps that minmise you touching a handle with your hands. All people who work in these industries understand this because it is one item that is checked by the health inspector Reply

Yes some Bathroom Taps in Public Places are not normal. I remember going to Federation Square one day and using the Restaurant that i had finished eating at Toilets. When it came time to wash my hands i had no idea on how to operate the taps. They looked like Aeroplane Wings and the way they turned on were very strange. I only knew how to work them because another Diner showed me how to work them. They were very confusing and strange. The other Diner and I laughed about the silly person who had come up with the idea of these weird taps. Reply

Agree that some are a bit tricky and I've been caught trying to work it out. These days you should not have to touch anything. Reply
