Good morning all, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the road outside is still quiet :-)

It was a bit cold first thing this morning, and there had been a heavy frost overnight. That has now cleared, and it has all the makings of a brilliant spring day. At the moment I am arguing with myself about shopping, and if I should do it today, or leave it until tomorrow, or some variation around these options. There is nothing I need urgently, and I may do a few smaller shops instead of the planned single big one. I do need to get fuel at some point, so I may go a bit further afield to get my shopping this time. For the last year or so all my shopping has been local, and I am feeling a bit more adventurous at the moment.

Has your shopping all been more local due to the lockdowns ?

Yes we have always use d the local butcher as all his meat is local = Cornish, he makes his own sausages and burgers he tells us he gets all his meat from a local agateware close to Truro, we use the towns farmers market ( it has been closed due to the lock down it re-opened today ) we have now started to use the towns bakers too fresh shop cooked bread far tastier than Asda or Tesco's bread and down in Mevagissey most mornings there is a tailor which sells fish court that morning and landed fresh ! I hope you enjoyed your day! I was shopping more locally at home but that's harder at uni. Today, I went down into town to do my big weekly shop (I do just one a week because bus tickets are expensive and so is the shop on campus!). I was going to go to a local veg stall in the market but for some reason it wasn't there so I got British produce from Sainsbury's instead :-( Reply

Most of my shopping has been in the local Co-op or the local Tesco Express at the petrol station.
I did shop at a Waitrose (for body moisturiser) when I got my first vaccine jab and again on Wednesday (after my Mum's funeral). I will go for a look see around the shops on Monday, as there are things I do need to get.

Minus 3 overnight Chris , and I managed 20 minutes in the garden before scuttling back inside ! Far too cold for me , although Monday looks more promising . Reply

Morning Chris our shopping habits haven't changed.
There was ice on the bird baths at 08:00. I've completed part of the arbour swing painting & we're off to meet some friends soon.
While I was painting I stopped once because I had neck ache & realised that one of the nuthatches was watching me from the eucalyptus.

Morning Chris, lovely day here too. I'll be sticking to my local Co op for a few more weeks yet as I've heard that town is still quite crowded. Reply

Nothing has changed that much here Chris as we have had our main shopping delivered by Tesco for years but we tend to do top-up shops online now as well due to Covid and will possibly carry on doing that now. Reply

I have stayed shopping as I normally do. Live within a 10-15 minute walk of a Sainsbury's, Tesco's, Aldi and a fantastic fishmonger. Extend my walk slightly and it includes an award winning butcher and an M&S Simply Food. Reply
