My darling granddaughter just got a job at the Jail in Bodmin

I thought what sort of a job will she do at a jail ha ha.
Then she explained its a hotel restaurant and spa. I thought to myself Rose you are losing the plot ha ha. My granddaughter is a silver service waitress. I'm sure she will do well there. She did a spell at Rick Stiens place and hated it she said the food was dreadful . Let's hope it's nicer at the new place.

Won’t be going to Rick Stein’s then and the prices of his food boxes constitute robbery. Good luck to your granddaughter. Reply

The prison in Oxford (which is on the site of the castle, which was largely destroyed during the Civil War) has been turned into a hotel. Think there are several other prisons around the country turned into hotels, restaurants or visitor attractions.
Hope your granddaughter enjoys her new job and the food.

Hehehe Rose :) xx
You've just reminded me of my brother. He spent time in Pentonville, but it was only once a week. After leaving school he got a job working for Islington Libraries. At one point he was asked to go to the prison, once a week, to help sort out the books in the prison library. He told me that his first day there, an inmate started to give him verbal grief. However another prisoner stepped in and said something along the lines of; "Leave him alone, he's not a screw. He's here to help sort out the books on our behalf. If you or anyone else gives him any grief now or anytime in the future, you'll answer to me!". From that point forward my brother had no trouble from any of the inmates.
