Vaccine & a vacation?
Closed

When the pandemic hit last year, some businesses closed their doors for good. This year with the covid vaccines rolling out around the world, the United States had an idea. With people wanting to travel, some travel destinations are offering a sweet deal that most people would not refuse – a vaccine and a vacation. Here are a few places that are offering this unique deal.

1. New York
New York State are putting vaccination sites at popular places around the city such as Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Central Park and the High Line. The vaccine they would receive is the one shot, Johnson & Johnson. Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference, “We think this is a positive message to tourists — come here, it’s safe, it’s a great place to be, and we’re going to take care of you. We’re going to make sure you get vaccinated while you’re here with us.”

2. Alaska
Have you ever wanted to visit Alaska and enjoy the outdoors? Maybe see the Northern Lights? If you are interested, now is the time to visit as starting June 1st, people will be allowed to get the vaccine from any of the 4 airports that you fly into. The tourism was not doing great, so in February, the state stopped requiring people to take a negative test before visiting.

3. Chicago - Six Flags
During the first weekend in June, a Six Flags amusement park in Chicago is having vaccination teams on site, so you can have fun at the park and get vaccinated. They are also having a sweet deal for people who are already vaccinated. The park is giving 50,000 tickets to the state of Illinois.

What do you think about Vaccine Tourism?

Do you know anybody who would be interested in this?

I have gotten my second dose just yesterday, I sure feel like one of the lucky ones. I was just wondering and their had been nurses station set up on the sidewalk and toy Surprise there was no line. I carry my covid papers with me and boom I got the second shot . I was done in 15 minutes or less fed and hydrated. Vancouver BC Canada. Thanks to them all there that afternoon. It is a good idea I was surprised to see them there.

I wouldn't go. I have no interest to do this right now. It is too dangerous. I wont take the risk.
Some rich and famous people would do this and someone who has a higher income and loves to travel. I dont want to travel anywhere until this is all over.

I'm from Italy and I can't wait to get the second dose of vaccine and go back home safely. My mom is turning 102 in July and I really want to celebrate her birthday.

It's a very controversial matter. I already got the first shot of Pfizer and if I could get the second dose in Alaska, I probably would travel there.

No matter how good a deal it is I would still be leery of traveling right now.

Wow that's crazy. I haven't been keeping up with the news about vaccinations. I think that's great if they have enough vaccinations to spare to travellers. We don't in canada, we're lucky enough that we get one and hopefully 2. For me the destination isn't the issue, it's the getting there that's the trouble - i feel you are more likely to catch covid sitting on an airplane with recirculating air!

I really think no one should be travelling till things get better innthe country. Vacations should be on the last thing people are thinking about right now

Cheap promotion, at least a pleasant distraction.
