Vaccine & a vacation?
Closed

When the pandemic hit last year, some businesses closed their doors for good. This year with the covid vaccines rolling out around the world, the United States had an idea. With people wanting to travel, some travel destinations are offering a sweet deal that most people would not refuse – a vaccine and a vacation. Here are a few places that are offering this unique deal.

1. New York
New York State are putting vaccination sites at popular places around the city such as Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Central Park and the High Line. The vaccine they would receive is the one shot, Johnson & Johnson. Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference, “We think this is a positive message to tourists — come here, it’s safe, it’s a great place to be, and we’re going to take care of you. We’re going to make sure you get vaccinated while you’re here with us.”

2. Alaska
Have you ever wanted to visit Alaska and enjoy the outdoors? Maybe see the Northern Lights? If you are interested, now is the time to visit as starting June 1st, people will be allowed to get the vaccine from any of the 4 airports that you fly into. The tourism was not doing great, so in February, the state stopped requiring people to take a negative test before visiting.

3. Chicago - Six Flags
During the first weekend in June, a Six Flags amusement park in Chicago is having vaccination teams on site, so you can have fun at the park and get vaccinated. They are also having a sweet deal for people who are already vaccinated. The park is giving 50,000 tickets to the state of Illinois.

What do you think about Vaccine Tourism?

Do you know anybody who would be interested in this?

In the USA it was very easy for those wanting a vaccine to get it. therefore this was not an incentive

It’s ridiculous, just book your appointment and get vaccinated ASAP! We just might be able to get back to a bit more normal life some day if we all do our part. Remember polio, measles, small pox, mumps...not really, my point exactly!

Interesting idea, but you might catch someting at the airport or in the airplane getting to destination.

No I would not do this. The most vulnerable could not afford this option and they should be vaccinated first. I have my first shot, practice safe distance and follow all guidelines. I shall wait my turn for the second shot
