Have you been to any of the flower farms?

We have 3 types that are popular in the Vancouver bc area. I have been to none though. The thought of paying over $10 to see flowers baffles me a little since I have them in my garden. That being said I'm not a flower enthusiast and not a fan of super strong smells either so it's maybe just not my thing!

On the little island Hvar in Croatia, they are known for their lavender and you could buy anything and everything lavender. Of course soaps and keychains were popular but desserts and food too. My friends got the gelato, it tasted like soap, bleh! Tried any weird lavender items?

Tulips are popular in Holland and when we visited family when I was little I remember the fields an fields of them. It was beautiful to see. I imagine it's the same with sunflowers. It would be fun to sit all day and see that many turn with the sun. On a smaller scale I see them turn in my garden each day.
Do you grow any flowers?

I grow loads, flowers and veggies. also shrubs and trees. Like Denise below, I used to go to the Tulip Festival every year, but it was too commercial, would rather see one or all of the farms you describe. Reply

In Ottawa when I lived there they had the tulip festival, and close by us now there's a sunflower farm, but they literally had to close because so many people were coming during off hours to take pics and selfies that they destroyed much of the field. Reply

I love flowers and have many flower beds, not to mention my deck is also full of colorful annuals. Something I look forward to every spring is digging in the dirt and creating different combinations of flowers in baskets and planters. We have a couple of very nice sunflower fields locally. They are so beautiful. Reply
