whats your Ikigai?

This is the Japanese word for a reason to live or a reason to jump out of bed in the morning.
lovely and different word and something to think about when we all get on a bit!
However, for us who are not all old codgers like our Sparty(spartan) sorry had to get a dig in there haha what gets you out of bed in the morning each day?
I am at the age now where I know what makes me happy and what doesn't..and considering in Okinawa where most of the people are over 100! they do centre their thoughts on a slow pace of lifestyle and looking at the health holistically.

for me my Ikigai is basically being out on my bike, talking to animals - I talk to the neighbours cat out of my kitchen window on a daily basis - then give him a cat biscuit. for him he just wants the biscuit haha for me I get pleasure of seeing his wee furry face!

But as you all know I am a big animal lover.

Let me know what your Ikigai is?

My friend bought me a book on Ikigai and I found it very inspirational. Paper quilling is my Ikigai - I make mostly cards, but also some pictures and models. I lose all track of time and think of it as my "therapy". Lovely pic by the way :) Reply

My reason to live is Jesus without him my life would be a mess. I would not have been able to cope with two sons on drugs and an alcoholic husband . I would have had a breakdown or gone mad. Jesus took all my sorrow all my pain and melted it away. He showed me how to deal with them and gave me such peace I can't explain it it's peace you can't get from the world dave and Dan are now clean my eldest is in a bad place after having a breakdown when his partner died last year. But he will be fine at some point. I don't worry or stress I've no need I trust my God to sort everything out. Reply
