Surely it's up to YOU isn't it ?

When the electorate of the UK voted to leave the European union more than 5 years ago , surely they were aware that things would inevitably change, afterall both the government and individuals have had more than 5 years to implement and ensure their plan is up and running by now.

At the spring budget and again last week the first "cost of brexit" taxes were levied on the UK with maybe more in the pipeline.

Many sectors of the economy are running below capacity due to staff shortages. Fruit and vegetables "remain" unpicked , houses "remain" unbuilt , goods "remain" undelivered , hospitals and care homes "remain" unstaffed, even farm animals "remain" un-slaughtered due to abattoir staffing shortages.

All decisions obviously carry consequences and I would think it only right that the people that voted for brexit should now pick up the gauntlet and throw themselves wholeheartedly into providing the workforce that these sectors of our economy so desperately require.

Isn't it long overdue now that the vast pro brexit populous metaphorically put their shoulder to the plough ensuring their brexit nirvana becomes a successful reality , otherwise what was all the disruption for in the first place ?

Well, unless the Brexit people are actually trained to slaughter animals or have HGV licenses, I don't know that they should be doing it. My husband voted to Remain, I'm American so couldn't vote, and he's since died. As for the picking of fruits and veggies, I'd love to help with that were I not side line by arthritis and a dodgy leg that never settled after a dog broke it eleven years ago. Reply

I didn't vote in the Brexit poll as I was not allowed to because I'm a European. Obviously I would've voted remain. So far Brexit has caused me a lot of misery already. It seems we now have to prove to our own embassy that we have the right to live here if we want to continue to use their services i.e. getting a new passport. I will also have to prove I have the right to live and work in the UK for any employment or renting/buying a house. I can no longer travel on my EU ID card when I want to go to Belgium and come back here, it now has to be a passport. As a European I still love my European food which has now been stopped due to import taxes and customs. 80% if what I used to eat is now no longer available. My mother is unable to send me parcels as the shipping cost has tripled due to... import tax and customs.. Also as my husband is non-British and also non-EU he now has to get a transit visa for every European country he transits in on his way to Dubai or anywhere else because his home address is in the UK. I voted to leave never wanted to join in the first place I am almost 70 , I have done my years of work maybe those who are claiming ESA should get off their bums and work for their money . Im sure many would if only the wages were enough to live on but because our country was filled with eastern europians working for peanuts which has spoiled the employers who dont want to pay our people a living wage they want as much of the profit as they can get. .The farmers are a disgrace my daughter and her friend aplied for a job picking she drives and could have gone at a minutes notice they didnt get the job why if the farmers are so desperate?
