If only we knew. Things have changed in the past year, so I shall look at others' answers to find out.

Well first off I see you have set the replies to be 20 words or more, most people will only be bothered to reply to topics which only ask for a 10 word reply so you might want to change that to get more people leaving replies which by the way is one of the ways to earn points. The more replies you get the more points you get. Also doing the email surveys you are sent and also doing the sponsored surveys here on the site every day soon has the points mounting up too.

Yes for a starter set topic to a ten word minimum. Read the FAq's the Tutorial & the blogs. Do a search before setting topics to seen if it has been asked before or the aswer to your question is there so the site is not flooded with the same stuff.
If you want replies to your topics you have to reply to others as Toluna is a two way street.
Best way to earn points is to write a few topics, reply to lots of other members and they will return the favour (well 40% of them will). Be as active as you can within the site the more you use it the more you gain. You do not help others as much by voting on a poll, vote on their polls by all means but a vote is no substitute for a reply just because it seems easier to do. Nothing makes a good topic, regardless of its content don’t look for that elusive topic that will do well there isn’t one. The key to this site depends on how many people reply to your topic and the only way they do that is by you going and doing loads of other peoples’ then many of them return the favour. Also one way to get a lot of replies is to write less topics, many people only do the first three on your profile page, quite a lot don’t look into the other pages, so the longer a topic stays on the page the more it gets seen the more replies you get.
Polls – you need 500 votes for 500 points, 1,000 votes for 1,000 points.
Write an eighty word comment on your own or someone else’s topic and if it is accepted by Toluna you get 100 points. You can get points for up to 50 eighty word topics per month. Each reply is worth 100 points so that is 5,000 extra points. When they give them to you will have to look back over the last month as the points appear dated when you wrote the reply.
. You can earn a maximum of 15,000 Event Credit - Content popularity bonus points (opinion topic), either from one or several topics (credited as you earn them). You get points for replies on your topics as follows: 20 = 500 (note, some times it needs a 21st reply etc to get the points) 30 = 1000 40 = 2000 50 = 3000 75 = 3500 100 = 5000 Therefore you can get a total of 15000 if your topic reaches 100. These points are given as the replies reach the required number.

Its best to log on daily and complete all the sponsored polls as you get a steady number of points that way. Complete as many members polls and opinions as you have time for as most members will return the favour if you leave them a message.

Here is the advice I tell everyone. I see you already have three poll topics and three opinion topics on your profile page. Leave these on here to collect more opinoins. Don't keep creating new topics. Go to someones page and answer all the poll and opinion topics you can. This may include several pages of polls and opinion topics. Leave them a brief message stating you answered as many of their topics as you could and if they wouldn't mind stopping by your profile to answer as many of your pages of questions as they can too. (Just be honest with the amount of questions you answer for them. Some people stop in and say they answered questions for me and I look in their recent activity and they didn't do any of my question, so just be honest.) Back to the reason why you should leave three good topics and 3 polls on your first page.. Many people will only take a look at the first 3 polls and 3 opinion topics on your profile page and they won't bother looking through more. I don't know why? Leaving them on the first page will no doubt get you more votes. I promise. Just remember. vote and add your opinion to their topics and invite them to look at yours
You can also do sponsored polls and surveys.

We get points for 21,31,41,51,76 and finally the 101st opinion on one opinion topic. We get 500 points for 500 poll votes on one poll topic. The points go up from there. Toluna tells us that we max out around 15,000 points. (These are only for Social points or also known as event credits.) To find out if you are maxed out you have to go to YOU at the top of the page. Scroll down and click on YOUR POINTS. Count the amount of points you've earned for that month on poll and opinion topics only. if it equals or exceeds 15,000 points for the month, then you are probably maxed out.. You can also get points for writing an 80+ opinion on someone elses topic. You can earn up to 5000 points per month on this. You can get all the points you want for surveys, as long as you can finish the survey. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask
