Lisa Montgomery, one of the only female inmates on the United States' federal death row, has been executed for murder. Her case attracted vast media attention because her lawyers argued how she was mentally ill and suffered extreme abuse as a child, but despite their pleas, she received a lethal injection at a prison in Terre Haute, Indiana. The inmate had strangled a pregnant woman in Missouri before cutting out and running away with her baby in 2004. Sadly, the 23-year-old victim, Bobbie Jo Stinnett, bled to death. Her lawyer, Kelley Henry, said that those who participated in her execution "should feel shame" and that "the government stopped at nothing in its zeal to kill this damaged and delusional woman," she said in a statement.   I am still in two minds about the death penalty. The Bible says no one has the right to take another human life, yet it also states that we should obey the laws of our government. This is a difficult one for me to answer.
